Jamaica Vacations

Author: Alison Cole

If you are looking for an unforgettable vacation, you may go for the third-largest island in the Caribbean, known as Jamaica. The island of Jamaica is an ideal spot for family vacations, honeymoons or sabbaticals.

The land is a treasure trove of natural beauty, as you will find forests, rivers, mountains, beaches and caves. You can visit all these exciting places during the day and then spend your evening listening to reggae music.

If you are planning vacations in Jamaica, chalk out your itinerary in such a way that you are able to enjoy some of the most exciting events that take place here every year. Some of these events, which are major attractions for tourists, include Reggae Sunfest, carnivals in Kingston and half-a-dozen other places, Air Jamaica's Jazz and Blues festival, etc.

Jamaica also has a number of museums, beaches and water sports. The average room rent for hotels or resorts varies. Vacations in Jamaica could prove to be quite affordable, though those who are looking for the best hotels would have to shell out a substantial amount of money. Dunn's River Falls is one of the major attractions on the island apart from Black River safari cruise and Blue Lagoon. Those who are deeply into reggae music may like to visit the Bob Marley museum, which rekindles the memory of this great Reggae singer.

In Lethe mountain valley one can enjoy river rafting on a bamboo raft, whereas at Rocklands feeding station one comes across a large variety of birds. Barnett Estate provides visitors an idea as to how a plantation used to look, whereas Blue Lagoon is a heaven for swimmers.
